Cambridge United to travel to Stockport County in opening game as 2024/25 fixtures released for Garry Monk’s side
Cambridge United will travel to Stockport County on the opening day of their 2024/25 Sky Bet League One campaign on Saturday, 10 August (5.30pm).
The Hatters topped the League Two table last term with 92 points and will host Garry Monk’s side’s first away trip of the season.
The U’s will then welcome Crawley Town to the Cledara Abbey Stadium a week later (17 August) for their first home match of the campaign.
Rotherham United will be United’s first newly-relegated opponents when they visit the Abbey on Tuesday, 1 October.
A month later, the first Cambridgeshire derby of the 2024/25 season will take place at the Weston Homes Stadium, on Saturday, 9 November, with Peterbrough travelling to the U’s for the return fixture on Saturday, 15 March.
The U’s will do a lot of travelling over the Christmas period, as Boxing Day will see Monk’s side visit the capital when they make the trip to Charlton Athletic, before another away fixture three days later at Leyton Orient (Sunday, 29 December).
The U’s festive fixtures conclude on New Year’s Day when Reading visit the Abbey.
And United will be at home on the final day of the season, with newly-relegated Birmingham City the visitors on Saturday, 3 May.
Fixtures are all subject to change and selections for Sky Sports games – which will result in changes to times and dates – will be made as follows:
• Selections for August and September will follow in the coming days.
• Selections for October, November and December (up to 11 January) will be made by the last week of July
• Selections for the remainder of January and February will be made by 1 November 2024
• Selections for the first weekend in March will be made by the first weekend in February and continue on a rolling week by week basis
