Histon Under-18s follow up Cambridge City victory with win away at Saffron Walden Town

Histon Under-18s continued their 100 per cent winning start to the new Thurlow Nunn League Youth South West Division with a 4-1 victory at Saffron Walden Town last week.

The young Stutes headed into the contest having won the previous week’s derby encounter against Cambridge City last time out.

Johannes Kappeler (2), Jay Downham-Flood and Reece Brown were all on target during the triumph at City’s expense, whereas against Walden three different players found the back of the net.

Finley Edwards helped himself to two goals at The Meadow, where Deacon Pattison and Luke Keyworth were also on target to get the better of bottom-of-the-table Walden.

Histon, who have now won all seven of their league fixtures this term, hold a six-point gap to second-placed Haverhill Rovers.

Alfie Oakman’s side will go in search of victory number eight on Thursday (21 November) when they play host to reigning Thurlow Nunn Youth Division champions Royston Town.

The young Crows will head to Bridge Road sitting third in the table, 11 points adrift of Histon having played two less games.
