25 pictures of Enchanted at Audley End House & Gardens
Lighting up the season once again is Enchanted, a magical world of illumination, sound and colour, which has returned to Audley End House & Gardens for the first time since 2019.
Launched on Thursday, December 9, and running on select dates until December 30, visitors can enter a fairytale landscape as the grounds of the stately home near Saffron Walden are transformed into a winter wonderland.
It features giant lilies reflecting in the Cam and a wintry trail on which families will be able to see Audley End’s formal gardens and historic house lit up with festive projections. There is also a kaleidoscope of colours on the lawn and, for little ones, there is more magic to be found at the secret fairy village.
Catherine Miller-Gough, events manager at English Heritage, said of the first night: “It was really special seeing Audley End lit up for the festive season for the first time in two years. The new light installations were really spectacular to behold and the giant dandelions floating on the Cam and the kaleidoscope installation in particular went down really well with our visitors.
“The return of the event has proven to be really popular. We are now sold out until Christmas, however there is still availability from December 27 to December 30 – the perfect time to get out of the house for a festive wintery walk.”
