Cambridge-based guitarist Daniela Rossi to play fundraising concert

Cambridge-based Argentinian classical guitarist Daniela Rossi will be livestreaming a concert via YouTube this Sunday, 30 March at 8pm.

The concert is a fundraiser for her hometown, Bahía Blanca, which recently suffered catastrophic flooding, with rainfall exceeding the previous record by three or four times.

Many people lost their lives and many more lost everything - their homes, belongings, or even their livelihoods.

Daniela says: “Bahía Blanca gave me everything until I moved to England at the age of 23.

“It provided me with free primary, secondary, and musical education through the Conservatory of Music, which gave me the tools to pursue what I have always loved: music and teaching. I feel like I cannot turn my back on it.

“The Bahía Blanca Conservatory is located in one of the most affected areas. The flood destroyed all the pianos, a large portion of the other instruments, and ruined its entire library.

“I would like to invite you to my online concert to help my city. From afar, I decided to use the hands that I cannot use to carry clothes, food, or physically support those who are struggling - to give a concert instead.

“And you can also help by getting a ticket for it.”

Tickets can be purchased from donorbox.org/daniela-rossi-s-concert-for-cmbb.

Visit the fundraising website at tinyurl.com/bdvw9fb8.

The suggested ticket price is $15 USD. “If you believe in the project but can only contribute a smaller amount due to financial difficulties, any help will be infinitely appreciated and meaningful,” says Daniela.

“If you can contribute more than the suggested amount, it will also be of great help.”
