The event, from 10am to 4pm on Monday, 17 February, promises free children’s activities, live performances and unique experiences, some of which can be booked.

Bookable activities include dance and drama workshops, each running twice a day, plus technical workshops and guided tours, each running four times.

In the dance workshops, children will learn energetic routines past and present, while the drama workshops will explore the art of performance and creative expression.

Hands-on experiences for adults and children are on offer in the technical workshops, which will demonstrate aspects of event production, while the guided tours will explore the history of the Corn Exchange and provide backstage access.

The event has been organised by business and event management students at Anglia Ruskin University with help from the Cambridge Corn Exchange team.

Drop-in activities include arts and crafts, a building block fun zone, and a chance to contribute to a time capsule by bringing a personal item to include.

Stalls will offer unique products as the Corn Exchange's past as a farmers’ market is brought back to life.

Garden House restaurant staff will offer free sweet treats and give out vouchers giving 20 per cent off, while Market House restaurant will run a culinary showcase stall, offering samples and hands-on workshops, including how to make dumplings and suchi.

Performers will represent the diverse artists who have been seen at the Corn Exchange stage, from the 1960s to modern day, and there will be live storytelling sessions too.
