Enjoy Songs for Cecilia, a lunchtime concert this week at Great St Mary’s Church
St Mary's, the Cambridge University Church, will be hosting the concert this Friday afternoon (November 22).
Cambridge singer-songwriter Jonathan Steffen will be joined by classical guitarist Roland Gallery and Baroque recorder specialist Evelyn Nallen for Songs for Cecilia – a lunchtime recital at Great St Mary’s from 1pm to 1.45pm.
The day being the Feast of St Cecilia, the patron saint of music, the concert will comprise a set of songs penned by Jonathan plus an excerpt from Joaquin Rodrigo’s 1948 Albúm de Cecilia, arranged for guitar and recorder by Roland Gallery.
Jonathan, Roland and Evelyn will be playing material from a new album that they recorded in Cambridge together in August 2019, which is currently in production.
The concert is free of charge, with a retiring collection.
