Taking place at Peterborough Showground from last Thursday (June 16) to Sunday (June 19), Cambridge Rock Festival (CRF) attracted a slew of acts - both local to Cambridgeshire and otherwise - including Bad Touch, When Rivers Meet, Focus, Cats in Space, Franck Carducci Band, and Atomic Rooster.
The event enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far, followed by a day of rain with temperatures dropping by half overnight. Classic rock, prog rock, glam rock, blues rock, and folk rock were all represented and bands also came from France, Malta, Lithuania and all parts of the UK.
“But essentially,” said Ian Stuart from the CRF press office, “we all had a really good time with old friends, new friends and four days of the live music we have all been starved of for the last two years.”
Comments left on CRF's Facebook page included: “There for all four days on my own. First festival for more than 40 years and it was just brilliant. Huge thank you to all organisers, volunteers, bands and all the friendly people I met. You have made an old man very happy. See you next year” and “The campsite was quiet, the toilets were clean, the festival goers were all lovely people. I thoroughly enjoyed being there! Thank you.”
