In pictures: Embaa-rk on a trail with a difference this Easter as Shaun the Sheep visits Anglesey Abbey
A flock of sheep has descended at the National Trust’s Anglesey Abbey, where 12 ewe-niquely designed Shaun the Sheep sculptures are on display until 29 April.
Held in collaboration with Wild in Art and Aardman, the Find the Flock trail promises fun for the whole family.
The super-sized Shaun the Sheep sculptures, standing 160cm tall, are dotted around the gardens at the site.
The flock has been painted by 12 national and international artists with bright colours and bold patterns.
Visitors are invited to pick up a trail map and embaa-rk on a journey through art and adventure around the grounds, learning more about the artists as they go.
Meghan Curteis, experience and visitor programming manager, said: “We’ve been blown away by how popular Shaun the Sheep has been at Anglesey Abbey, and it’s been really lovely to see visitors of all ages enjoying the trail, meeting Shaun the Sheep, and taking photos.
“We hope visitors will enjoy coming back to Anglesey Abbey again soon for our May half-term trail and Summer of Play activities when the gardens are full of summer blooms.”
Molly Van Den Brink, attractions and live experiences manager at Aardman, added: “We are excited to see Shaun arrive at Anglesey Abbey this spring – a season so synonymous with newborn lambs and nature blooming.
“We are certain he will be well looked after and will provide great family entertainment for visitors seeking the beautifully designed Shaun sculptures around the trail.”
The grounds at Anglesey Abbey are open daily from 9.30am-5.30pm in April. The Find the Flock trail is free for National Trust members, while normal admission charges apply for non-members.
