In pictures: Sunday at Northstowe Running Festival

The second Northstowe Running Festival took place last weekend (September 3-4). The event, supported again by the Cambridge Independent, consisted of a 10k on the Saturday and the Northstowe Half, the Family Mile and 5k on the Sunday.

The event is supported by Care Network Cambridgeshire, Power2Inspire and Richmond Fellowship, and profits from the Family Mile will be split between Northstowe’s four schools. Matt Webb and Neil Whiteside from Cambridge Radio 105 were there over the weekend.

Marcin Lis, the festival’s founder and managing director, doesn’t yet know the full amount raised over the two days. He said: “I know that Care Network Cambridgeshire did really well. They managed to recruit a few runners to run on their behalf and I think they are at around £2,000 at the moment.”

Marcin, who notes that virtual runs are still ongoing for this year’s festival – meaning that there is still money coming in – concluded: “A massive thank you to Lizz Mayers, our event manager who worked very hard over the last year helping me build this event.

“We are very proud that yet again we were able to welcome in Northstowe hundreds of runners and multiple spectators enjoying a lot of free entertainment. I would like to thank our amazing volunteers as well as all the sponsors and partners.
