New thriller ‘Prime Target’, filmed in Cambridge and starring Leo Woodall, available now on Apple TV+

Prime Target, a new series starring Leo Woodall and Daisy Waterstone, which was filmed in Cambridge, is now showing on Apple TV+.

A young mathematician called Edward Brooks (Woodall) is on the verge of a breakthrough when he realises an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea.

Together with a government agent who has been tracking him, he begins to unravel a conspiracy.

Woodall, who appears in the latest Bridget Jones film, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, was spotted filming in the city last year, alongside Daisy Waterstone, who is probably best known as Margo Durrell in the ITV family drama The Durrells.

Prior to filming, Daisy also took a three-year foundation course at the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts.

The series also features Quintessa Swindell, Martha Plimpton, Stephen Rea, and Jason Flemyng.

Apple TV+ says Woodall’s character hopes to crack the code that will allow him to access every computer in the world.

Its synopsis explains: “Soon he begins to realise an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent, played by Swindell, who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behaviour.”

Woodall was also spotted in Cambridge in the summer of 2023 filming scenes for another Apple TV project – a film titled Varsity. Prime Target is streaming now.
