Northstowe Running Festival picture gallery: Runners tackle 10k
Drawing a plethora of runners and spectators alike, the second Northstowe Running Festival took place last weekend (September 3-4).
The event, supported again by the Cambridge Independent, consisted of a 10k on the Saturday and the Northstowe Half, the Family Mile and 5k on the Sunday.
Below are our 10k pictures. You can see our gallery from Sunday’s runs here.
Marcin Lis, the festival’s founder and managing director, said around 500 runners turned up over the weekend, some of whom signed up to run on the day for the 10k, 5k and the Family Mile.
Which of the events were the most popular? “The 10k and the Family Mile were the biggest,” explained Marcin, adding: “The overall number of runners was very similar to last year, which is good because currently most races are seeing a drop in the number of people attending – around 20 or 30 per cent – so I’m really pleased that we maintained a similar number of runners to last year.”
