Talent showcase seeks unsigned Cambridge talent
UK Unsigned, an independent project with a network across the country, is coming to the city later this month.
Away from the talent shows on television, the project is one of the country’s biggest showcases for new talent, claiming more categories and opportunities than any other production.
UK Unsigned Cambridge will give unsigned artists a chance to demonstrate their talent on Saturday, July 27 at St Barnabas Church on Mill Road, from 5pm till 10.30pm.
As the organisation celebrates its 20th year, this season’s participants will have opportunities to win up to £20,000 worth of prizes.
The series will culminate in the first ever National UK Unsigned Week from October 6 to October 12.
Activities will start with the UK Unsigned Grand Finals at the Broadway Theatre in Catford on October 6 and end with the Silver Dress Ball in Pall Mall on October 12.
The organisers will be looking to select performers from the categories of cover singers, singer-songwriters, individual dancers, comedians, poets, MCs and dance groups to perform across National UK Unsigned Week as both contestants and as special performers.
UK Unsigned Cambridge will be looking at performance genres such as solo dancers, dance groups, singer-songwriters, MCs and cover singers, and anyone interested can attend.
Entry is £3 on the door.
