Tickets go on sale for spectacular 2024 Cambridge Botanic Lights display

Tickets for this year’s Cambridge Botanic Lights go on sale today (Wednesday).

Following the success of the inaugural lights trail last year, Cambridge University Botanic Garden will again be brought to life after dark.

New, original installations that are unique to the garden and its plant collection are promised, along with the return of some of the most popular pieces from last year, such as the light tunnel and water lilies on the lake.

The trail will be open for 14 nights, opening on Friday 29 November and then running every Thursday to Sunday evening until 21 December. It will highlight some of the garden’s most loved features, such as the fountain, lake and glasshouse range.

And a photography competition will again be held, with under 16 and 16-plus categories.

Garden director Prof Beverley Glover said: “This is a magical evening out with family, friends and colleagues, offering a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the garden in a whole new light.

“Last year’s event received heartwarming feedback from our visitors, including local residents, visitors from further afield, as well as many work groups and couples, who made it part of a special night out in the city. We are thrilled to welcome everyone back again this winter and hope Cambridge Botanic Lights will become part of Cambridge’s winter calendar.”

The café will form part of the trail and food stalls halfway around will serve hot drinks and light bites.
