Up-and-coming indie/post-punk band Among the Citizens to hit Cambridge tomorrow
Having burst onto their local music scene almost a year and a half ago, the Peterborough-based group have played many gigs across East Anglia.
Aside from impressing in live performances, the quartet have also been learning their trade in the technical side of the industry. Their debut EP, Unlearn You, was recorded, produced and mastered by the band themselves.
Tracks from the EP have been played on BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire, BBC Introducing Norfolk and BBC 6 Music.
Among The Citizens – heavily influenced by the likes of The Cure and Echo & the Bunnymen – have performed at both the Junction and the Corn Exchange in Cambridge.
August saw the band support Eliza and the Bear at another sold out show in Cambridge and summer festival appearances included Green Meadows for BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire, VW Whitenoise and Wilkestock for Juicebox Live.
The foursome are currently on their first UK tour and will be appearing at The Blue Moon on Norfolk Street tomorrow (Friday, October 12) – doors open at 7.30pm.
Advance tickets: wegottickets.com/greenmind/event/448843 – £7 on the door
Support comes from The Fifths, Searching Grey and Sarpa Salpa.
Among the Citizens are also releasing a new EP – Pretend to Be in Love – tomorrow.
