Sheene Mill, a 10-bedroom mill house hotel and restaurant in Melbourn, has been sold to a local businessman after being marketed by Colliers for £350,000.

Set on the River Mel, the 16th-century flour mill has been operating as a boutique wedding venue and restaurant.

It features landscaped gardens, a pond, and the capacity for up to 180 guests at events.

Previous owner Adam Jordan acquired Sheene Mill in 2013, and during his ownership extensively refurbished the house into a wedding venue.

Now the leasehold has been sold to local businessman Anuj Awasthi, who has been working within the hospitality industry for more than 15 years.

He said: “I found Sheene Mill to be a good opportunity. As a local, I’ve admired the property for some time and I’m enthusiastic to get started.

“My aim is to build on the positive reputation and legacy it has over many years now, and most importantly continue to create unforgettable experiences for our customers, old and new.”
