The popular event was held in an authentic Oktoberfest tent on Jesus Green. Organiser Carsten Raun said: “It was a really fantastic event. We had around 3,000 visitors and I must say it went really well, even though we had a rainy Friday evening.

“We had a good mood, we had different sessions. There were company visits on Friday and it was like a party on the Saturday.”

Cambridge Oktoberfest, which launched in 2016, is about more than just German beer. There is live music, full Oktoberfest decoration, and the staff are all dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen. The event serves giant beer specially made for Oktoberfest at a small brewery in Bavaria, only 54 km from Nueremberg.
