Cambridge Beer Festival returns to city

Cambridge Beer Festival is back from Monday (May 20) featuring a wide range of local and national beers, as well as cider, perry, mead, wine, and bottled and draft beers from around the world.

CAMRA has held a beer festival in Cambridge since 1974 and it is the branch’s largest and main beer festival.

During its long run, the festival has had several homes, but since 2001 it has been held on Jesus Green.

This year the theme is a celebration of 50 years since the Apollo 11 moon landings.

Organisers said: “Keep an eye out for some beers brewed specially for this festival with suitably lunar names.”

As well as craft ales, visitors will also be able to enjoy a cheese counter showcasing a wide range of fine cheeses, together with locally produced bread, pork pies and scotch eggs.

The event runs from Monday, May 20 to Saturday, May 25. Ticket prices vary depending on the day and time - from free to £5.
