In pictures: Enjoying the fruits of the harvest at Ely Cathedral
Ely Cathedral held its annual Harvest Fayre last weekend (October 8-9), while an apple festival, run by Visit Ely, took place on Palace Green, opposite the cathedral, on the Saturday.
Jocelyn Palmer, events manager at the cathedral, said of the harvest festival: “It was brilliant fun. We had sheep and tractors in the cathedral and lots of incredible displays – very much a nod to the Ukraine crisis, with a big floral tribute around the tractor for the Ukraine farmers, and a ‘thought tree’ so people could hang a thought for the Ukrainian farmers and the local farmers as well.

“We had lots of people through the cathedral and managed to raise quite a bit of money for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal and for the Ely Foodbank.” Jocelyn added that many people attended both the apple day outside and the harvest festival inside.
